Ardbeg Corryvreckan

Ardbeg's Corryvreckan, powerfully peaty and immensely satisfying, is a testament to the distillery on Islay's Kildalton Coast producing a whisky with a particularly medicinal style. Aptly named after a nearby whirlpool, Corryvreckan is an intense dram that we simply adore. Its scent is reminiscent of sticking plasters, buttery and creamy roast chicken crisps, with herbal notes and almost a hint of pine. On the palate, one finds flavours of cream, spices, a tingling freshness, and medicinal hints, intertwined with plasters and the zestiness of clementines and orange peels. The aftertaste is salty, more medicinal, with smoked meats, fleeting peat, tarmac, and a touch of chilli and salt. Overall, the flavour is truly astonishing.
